| Thanks
to All of You who joined us for DELAWARE HORN DAY! Saturday, October 6, 2007 ![]() l to r: Scott Lynch, Jeremy Norris, Amy Baker, Kayla O'Connor, Jessica Santiago, Joshua Cushing, Melanie Malusa, Brendan McDonnel, John David Smith, Dan Russakow, Julie Landsman, Andrew Tremblay and Liz Geller My
students and I were delighted to welcome over 50 visitors to the UD
campus for our inaugural Delaware Horn Day. Our special guest
was
Julie Landsman, Principal Horn of the Metropolitan Opera, whose master
class with UD students was informative and inspirational for all.
We
were also lucky
to have Dave Weiner of Brass Arts Unilimited of Baltimore join us for a
maintenance and repair seminar, and I was happy to see so many
participate in our large horn ensemble reading (ably led by Amy Boyd) and stick around for
my
late afternoon recital! Julie also sat in on our college
audition preparation seminar, along with my UD colleague and clarinet
professor Marianne Gythfeldt. We had visitors from here in
Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey and New York.
Plans are already underway for next
year's Horn Day, so if you would like to be kept informed, please
contact me and I'll be happy to add your name to the list! ![]() Thanks
again to all of those who took time from their busy schedules to be
with us. We look forward to Delaware Horn
Day 2008 - see you there!Up
