The UD CHORALE is on the road again, this time to Hartford Connecticut February 13-16, 2008, where they will perform for a thousand choral directors on the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division Convention.  They will be one of ten choirs (only three of which represent the college/university level) selected by a panel of adjudicators to represent the highest standards in choral performance. En route to the convention the CHORALE will stop to present concerts in West Windsor and Scotch Plains, NJ, and Glastonbury, CT.

This marks the third appearance in recent years that the CHORALE has made on ACDA conventions, including a concert on the regional convention in Pittsburgh in 2002 and three highly acclaimed concerts on the national convention in Los Angeles in 2005.  Most recently, in 2007, the CHORALE participated in an international festival hosted by the Estonian Choral Directors Association where they were awarded the first place Grand Prix Award over 40 other choirs from all over the world.  This time around, they will present a highly varied program, including music they brought back with them from their tour of the Baltics, along with more traditional repertoire spanning five centuries, including works by Heinrich Schütz, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky.

You can hear the UD CHORALE in concert on the UD campus on Saturday, May 17th at 8pm in Loudis Recital Hall.
