Last October James Ancona published his second book: “Up Front Etudes,” a collection of advanced works for the marching percussion front ensemble. Jim presented educational clinics and performances in Chicago, Illinois and Jakarta, Indonesia last winter. He will spend this summer on the road with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps serving as the Percussion Caption Head. This is Jim's 20th season working with Drum Corps International.
Jennifer Barker’s children's chorus/orchestra piece was performed three times this Christmas by the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and Saint Louis Children's Chorus.
In December, David Herman played an organ recital in New York at St.Thomas Church Fifth Avenue. His program included the New York premiere of a new work entitled Effigies, written for him by UD associate professor of music Jennifer Barker.
Suzanne Burton presented two papers at the Society for Music Teacher Education Symposium at University of North Carolina-Greensboro in September, 2007: 1) School-University Partnerships: A Critical Analysis of Two Diverse Partnerships and 2) ProjectMUSIC a Collaborative Model for Music Teacher Education. She also presented a paper at the International Research on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement, Tampa, FL, October, 2007: Outcomes of the Service-Learning Project, ProjectMUSIC. In Delaware, she presented a clinic at the Delaware Music Educators Association, October, 2007: Audiation Tips for the Recorder. Other presentations included the New Directions in General Music Conference at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, October, 2007: Advocating and Teaching through Informances and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 11 Conference, Montgomery Communiy College, November, 2007: Maximizing Musicianship with the Modes.
Her recent publications are Arts Education Policy Review, Fall 2007: “School-University Partnerships: What Are They and Why do They Matter?” and Early Childhood Music and Movement “Perspectives” Fall 2007: Supporting Social-Emotional Competence in Early Childhood.
In addition, she was appointed facilitator of the Society for Music Teacher Education School-University Partnership Area of Strategic Planning and Action, editor for the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association journal, "Perspectives," and Education Chair of the Gordon Institute for Music Learning.

Trumpeter Roger Ingram will be giving a clinic and performance with the UD Jazz Ensembles on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, and Steel Drummer Andy Narell will be on campus for a clinic and performance with Delaware Steel Tuesday, April 15, 2008.
Lawrence Stomberg, Assistant Professor of Cello, maintained an active performing schedule as he entered his second season as a member of the Serafin String Quartet, performing in venues from Michigan to Vermont, and returning to Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in late September, where the group was critically acclaimed for their “rhythmic vitality and taut ensemble” and “suave and stylish” playing. His performances as recitalist and chamber music collaborator ranged from local performances at UD and in Wilmington to New York City and upstate New York. In February 2007, he acquired a historic cello, circa 1727, made in the School of Testore in Milan, a cello that was once played in the NBC Symphony under the baton of Arturo Toscanini.
Anne Sullivan released her first solo CD last month called Romantische, romantic music for harp in the German tradition. It was recorded in part at the University of Delaware in Gore Recital Hall. The music includes selections by German and Austrian composers, and music by composers influenced by their connections to German music. It's available online at annesullivanharp.com and cdbaby.com.
