Artistic Director’s Favorites
The season’s opening concert will feature the masterpieces by Johannes Brahms and Carl Reinecke, two of Artistic Director Xiang Gao’s favorite German romantic composers. Former principal oboist of the Cleveland Orchestra and American Symphony Adrian Gnam and internationally acclaimed Portuguese pianist Alexandra Mascolo-David will be joined by UD faculty violinist Xiang Gao, UD faculty cellist Lawrence Stomberg, UD faculty hornist John Smith and UD faculty pianist Christine Delbeau.

The Power of Russian Music
Join us for an evening of fantastic chamber music including the fiery second piano trio by Dmitri Shostakovich. World-class cello virtuoso Haiye Ni who has served as principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and associate principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic will be joined by international prize-winning pianist Zhihua Tang, the acclaimed UD faculty clarinetist Marianne Gythfeldt and UD faculty violinist and MPCS artistic director Xiang Gao.

A memorable vocal recital in celebration of African-American History Month featuring the world famous tenor Lawrence Brownlee and the renowned collaborative pianist Martin Katz in his second MPCS appearance.

iMusic-Xiang Gao and Friends IV
A spectacular multimedia violin concert created by the world-renowned UD faculty violinist Xiang Gao. Dr. Howard Watkins, pianist of the Metropolitan Opera Company and members of the UD Faculty Jazz will be joined by other world-class artists invited by Mr. Gao for this unforgettable musical event. Concert program: iMusic* from classical to jazz selected and created by Xiang Gao, will be presented in a brand new and unique way that will take your breath away.
