Russel Murray

Russell Murray’s article “The Bancho Family of Trumpeters: Patronage and Welfare in Renaissance Parma,” was published in Journée de cuivres: Proceedings of the 1999 International Symposium on Historic Brass Research, Pedagogy, Performance and Conservation, Paris (Pendragon Press). He is currently preparing material for the updated release of The Norton Enjoyment of Music Online Tutor, a companion website for Joseph Machlis and Kristine Forney’s, The Enjoyment of Music (W. W. Norton). This summer he performed with Newberry’s Victorian Cornet Band at the Vintage Band Festival and International Wind Music History Conference in Northfield Minnesota. He is also Associate Conductor of the Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band.
